I’ll be honest, I’ve shared variations on this recipe before, but it’s always been a part of another recipe: salad dressing as part of a salad recipe, dressing for roasted veggies… You get the picture. This recipe is so good and so versatile though, I had to share it on its own. Believe me, once you’ve tried this balsamic vinegar and mustard dressing, you’ll never go back to the bottled stuff from the grocery store.
Fried chicken is as American as apple pie. Unfortunately, the traditional method of cooking it is also fairly hazardous to your health. Between pressure cookers, frying oil and big chunks of breaded chicken (thighs, wings and all), fried chicken has never been mistaken for ‘health food.’ Today, that will change, with this post. I know some families don’t have traditional “birthday dinners” or birthday cakes. You know the kind: every time someone’s birthday rolls around they always request the same meal (mine was always my mom’s baby back ribs) or the same birthday cake. Summer colds are just the worst, and my boyfriend is someone who gets sick maybe once a year on average. While there wasn’t much I could do for him besides push ibuprofen and liquids while waiting for the cold to run its course, I did also whip up a batch of my mom’s chicken soup.
Even though we only had a few more days in Trinidad and Tobago, Sean and I certainly made the most of it. Check out my blog below to see what we got up to. Hint: Stumblin was involved… (you heard me: Stumblin) Continue reading →
If you thought Trinidad sounded like a Caribbean paradise, just wait til you see Tobago! With hotels named Coco Reef and Crown Point and glass bottom boats with names like Cool Runnings, you know you’re in the right place for a great time. Continue reading →
Have you ever been bitten by a mosquito on the bottom of your foot? I have. Welcome back to Trinidad! Check out the first installment in my three-part blog series on going back to Trinidad, and seeing Tobago for the first time. The flight may not have been as long as the one to Asia, but the trip was certainly just as memorable! Continue reading →
