Even in my final days in Hong Kong, there was still so much to do. Between tests, birthdays and sight-seeing, I packed in almost as much during one week as I had during the whole rest of the semester in Hong Kong. Don’t miss it!
No matter where in the world you may be, finals season is one of the most stressful, sleep-deprived times of a college student’s life. And it wasn’t very different at HKUST (jokingly referred to as “Hong Kong University of Stress and Tension.” But in order to survive the stress, we came up with some great diversions. So join me as finals and shenanigans ensued.
My trip to Taiwan had been fantastic so far, but it was just about to get epic during our trip to the tea fields. Want to see how? Read the full story below!
Taiwan was far and away one of my most favorite destinations I traveled to during my study abroad in Hong Kong. Where else could you eat street food this good and even find vegetarian food that made you not miss meat? Taipei – that’s where! Plus, they have one of the tallest buildings in the world too – that’s pretty awesome.
Eager anticipation doesn’t even begin to cover how excited I was about going to Taiwan. The only thing about this trip is that it also meant my time in Hong Kong was quickly drawing to a close. But better not to dwell on that fact. Pack your bags for Taipei!
You know when people say “it’s a small world?” I really learned the true meaning of that this post. I came 6,000 miles from home and yet – well, you’ll see. Check it out below!
I don’t know why I never thought about the differences in religion there might be between Christians from the US versus Christians from Asia – but there are! Check out my latest blog, where I went to Bible study, the clubs and then island hopping in just a few short days. Busy, busy, busy!
Hong Kong’s not all about flash and shiny newness. There’s a lot of history that’s happened there and they take care to remember it. I learned a little more about its origins and I went to a beach party too. Yeah – a little fun, a little culture. All in a day’s work in Hong Kong.
Typically people associate Hong Kong with packed, urban city-life, but by venturing a little off the beaten path you can see some beautiful wilderness. Check out some of the wilder places I saw in Hong Kong that aren’t to be missed below.
Shopping in Hong Kong is like shopping no place else in the world. And in the same city where you can haggle for priceless antiques and rarities, you can also hike some the wildest trails you’ve ever seen. I love the combination of it all – check out my shopping, hiking and brush with Iranian culture all in one weekend.
