Dark Chocolate Gluten Free Cookies

January 14, 2015

Is there anyone in this world who doesn’t like a good cookie now and again? Show me that person and I’ll show you someone who’s having no fun in life. I on the other hand, could happily eat cookies everyday of my life – they’re on of my worst Achilles’ heels: if cookies are in the nearby vicinity and they’re good, I’ll find them. So today, I’m sharing one of my new favorite recipes for dark chocolate gluten-free cookies.

Mini Apple Pies

December 28, 2014

Hi all!

I hope you’re enjoying the holidays and the festive atmosphere everyone seems to have this time of year. If it’s cold outside, at least there seems to be warm smiles wherever you turn. Anyway, with New Years’ Eve fast approaching I thought a good recipe to share would be my mini apple pie recipe.

Cranberry Fluff

December 17, 2014

I’m very excited to be sharing this recipe with you. It was introduced to me just a few years ago by a family friend (it’s a longstanding Thanksgiving tradition at his family’s table), and I loved it the first time I tried it. I think you will too, and find many more uses for it besides just at Thanksgiving time, so be sure to whip up a batch of cranberry fluff. Continue reading

Crustless Pumpkin Pie

December 14, 2014

This post is a little late in coming, but I figure that pumpkin-anything is good for far longer than just Thanksgiving. I see no reason why the good old pumpkin pie should be relegated to just that one holiday. And speaking of which, what’s the best part of a pumpkin pie? The filling of course – so skip the crust and just go for the best part with my crustless pumpkin pie recipe. Let’s live a little! Continue reading

Lightened Up Bread Pudding

December 7, 2014

Happy holidays everyone!

I, as I imagine you are too, am knee-deep getting ready for the holidays. Baking, shopping, wrapping and decorating – it’s all happening at once, just like always. In between this craziness though, my sweet tooth never wanes, and I’m always on the hunt for new desserts that satisfy that and don’t expand my waistline.

If you’re anything like me, and you like the ooey, gooey, goodness of bread pudding, you’ll love this lightened up version of bread pudding I whipped up recently.

Zucchini Bread Muffins

November 16, 2014

I know I’ve been remiss not posting for the past couple of weeks, but hopefully this latest batch of recipes will make up for it. To continue with the fall theme of many of my recent posts, I present to you another squash-based recipe. Zucchini bread muffins! Continue reading

Smith Family Birthday Cake

October 25, 2014

This is a post that I’ve been holding off on writing for a bit. Mainly because what I’m about to reveal (at least partially) is a family secret. That being said, the Smith Family birthday cake, as its come to be known, is a birthday tradition. It’s a bit labor intensive to make, but the finished product is so good and so worth it.

White Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

October 22, 2014

Hi everyone, my name is Paige, and I think pumpkin flavor is just okay. It’s heresy to say, especially during fall, I know. But it’s kinda true – so many pumpkin-flavored things are a little bland. However, I think I may have the recipe to end that: white chocolate chip pumpkin bread. Continue reading

Warm Oatmeal Apple Pie Crisp

October 11, 2014

I have a serious sweet tooth. Chocolate, pies, cookies, cakes, ice cream – you name it, I probably like it. My boyfriend’s sweet tooth is slightly more refined, though when we first started going out, he claimed he wasn’t a big dessert guy. Right… I fixed that quick enough. I baked my way straight into his heart (and simultaneously got him addicted to sugar). Love you, Sean!

What is his sugary weakness, you ask? Besides the sugar bomb cereal Lucky Charms (which stays out of the house because it is his Achilles’ heel), he loves fruit based desserts. Fruit salad, his Aunt Jenny’s mocha cake, pie, oatmeal raisin cookies, etc.

When I was bitten with the baking bug last weekend, I whipped up a seasonally appropriate recipe of warm apple pie crumble. And it was epic. Continue reading
