Lemony Pork Stir-Fry

September 27, 2014

Do you ever have those weeks where you just can’t get to the grocery store to save your life so you can eat like a normal human? I had that this week. But instead of giving up and ordering take-out last night, I whipped up the quickest stir-fry ever. Continue reading

Chicken and Sweet Pepper Fettuccine

September 20, 2014

It’s officially true. Fall is setting in. For many of you, this may be exciting: cold weather, sweaters, boots, jeans and leaves changing colors. For me, it means winter is just around the corner. Boo…

Harsh midwestern winters figured prominently in my decision to move south (or west) for college when the time came. Then once I moved to Atlanta, my blood thinned even more and going anywhere further north  seems almost out of the question entirely. It would have to be quite an opportunity… but that’s for another post.

The point I’m trying to get to is food. It’s one of the highlights of fall and winter. Specifically, heartier, more stick-to-your-ribs types of food. Like my chicken and sweet pepper fettuccine.

Asian Glazed Chicken

September 17, 2014

In case you haven’t noticed, I love my mom. A lot. I’ll be totally honest here, she’s my best friend. We never went through that awkward mother-daughter phase where I rebelled and we fought and then made up when I finally got old enough that I realized she did know what she was talking about. We just didn’t – we got along and stayed getting along all the time that I was growing up. Truth.

Yes, that was a great day on the yacht.

Cancun’s Version of Wal-Mart is the Best Ever

Our Cancun trip was starting off so well: pool time, boat trips, great company and wonderful (but super hot) weather. How could it get better? How about yachts, personal barbecues and a gecko named Gary? Yeah, it’s covered.

I've got your boat right here.

Little Known Fact: Cancun is Freaking Hot in August!

Ok, ok, I know this is probably going to sound like a “well duh” moment, but I’ll go ahead and put it out there. When we went down to Cancun, Mexico just a short time ago for what’s become an annual beach trip, it was unbelievably hot! I mean sweating-just-sitting-outside-not-moving-hot. Shocker, right?

Maybe not, but even so, don’t miss my Cancun blogs: there are boats, beaches, sunburns galore and (as always) enough tequila to fuel a college spring break.

Hello, fruity drinks.

Chewy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

September 3, 2014

It’s a travesty that I hate to say, but it looks like summer is finally coming to an end. The mornings and afternoons just aren’t quite as humid and sweltering as they were just a few weeks ago. There is one bright spot to this lack of heat though… Baked goods! Continue reading
